Support Services for Pre-Insulated Pipe Networks
A range of services supporting the design, installation, operation and maintenance of pre-insulated pipe networks for district heating and cooling applications
Sector-leading support
At CPV we pride ourselves by the way in which we support our customers – from the moment that they first contact us through to their long-term operation and maintenance of a pre-insulated pipe network. As manufacturer, it’s important to us to ensure that our systems deliver exceptional performance throughout their working life. Therefore, we have established an array of world-class support services that help our clients every step of the way.
Training and CPD Programmes
Training Courses for Pre-Insulated Pipe Networks
Training installers, supervisors and maintenance operatives, our brand new, purpose-built training centre allows for not only the theory, but hands-on practical experience in the correct method for installing our pipe systems. In addition to this, we also offer training courses in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electronic surveillance systems – including the use of our own buried pipe network, on which we can simulate moisture faults as part of the practical training.

Engineering and Design Support
Design and Stress Analysis
There are many factors that will affect the long-term integrity of a pre-insulated pipe system. Correctly identifying and dealing with the potential for thermal expansion of the pipe system is a critical element of the design process and we employ state-of-the-art sisKMR specialist stress analysis software. This package allows us to configure the pipe routes to keep the thermal expansion within safe limits and conform to the requirements of the EN 13941 standard for Design and installation of pre-insulated bonded pipe systems for district heating.

Stress Analysis Example
Something as simple as adding in an unplanned branch connection can seriously impair a system’s ability to cope with the huge forces exerted on the pipe from thermal expansion. To put it into context, a 200-metre length of DN250mm pre-insulated steel pipe, heated to an operating temperature of 120°C will expand by around 150mm – exerting a stress of some 171MPa – the equivalent of 52 tonnes.

Supporting our clients
From receipt of a client's base model we proceed through the design phase and coordination, ensuring that our proposed solutions provide our client with a level of granularity that ensures the highest accuracy during both our production process and on site.
Our use of BIM validates design choices and provides our clients with a confident route to project completion. This enhances collaboration and enables a level of creativity that improves workflow at all stages.

On-site support services
Whether it’s on-site training, site supervision or specialist advice, support and maintenance – our engineers are at hand to provide customer support as and when required.

Tool sales and hire
We offer both the sale and short-term hire of all the specialist tools required to install our pipe systems.
This can include tools such as those required for pressing axial compression joints on our flexible systems, peeling tools for rigid polymer service pipes and all types of electro-fusion welding machines required for service pipes and outer casing joints. Leak detection systems are also covered – including all necessary testing and commissioning equipment.
