District Heating - Business Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven District Heating Business Development Manager to lead and grow our district energy initiatives. This role involves identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving projects in low-carbon district heating systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy infrastructure, sustainability, public-private partnerships with a keen knowledge of the contractor base that support it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in district heating across public and private sectors.
  • Lead early-stage discussions of district heating projects—from concept to feasibility with stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authority developers, energy consultants, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with the CPV engineering team to ensure proposed heat network designs are commercially viable, technically sound, and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory and policy developments affecting district heating and contribute to positioning the business in line with legislative trends.
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and provide regular reporting on sales performance, and strategic goals.
  • Managing time effectively, keeping track of leads and follow-up tasks.
  • Understanding the broader business context and how CPV products and services align. Effectively guiding the customer towards a purchase decision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in energy infrastructure, utilities, or district heating/cooling.
  • Demonstrable track record of successful project origination and closing within the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of district heating systems, decarbonization strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-starter with strategic mindset and strong organizational skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with heat networks and large-scale energy infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of heat pumps, CHP, biomass, or geothermal technologies.

Working Conditions:

  • Home based with occasional visit to the office as required.
  • Fast-paced environment with a successful and dynamic team.
