A higher-performance reinforced pre-insulated flexible pipe system for higher-temperature district heating applications

Hiline FibreFlex Pro combines a polymer service pipe liner and a high-modulus aramid reinforcing mesh in a composite construction, protected by an oxygen diffusion barrier layer. These introduce the opportunity for improved safety factors, operation at even higher temperature/ pressure combinations than the standard FibreFlex system, further extending service life and reduced heat loss.

    Overview

    Hiline FibreFlex Pro is a highly-efficient reinforced pre-insulated pipe system that’s perfect for district heating applications at higher pressures and temperatures than FibreFlex or standard PE-Xa pipe.

    • Maximum continuous operating temperature: 95°C
    • Maximum temperature (peak): 115°C
    • Maximum operating pressure: 10/16 bar at 95°C
    • Thermal conductivity: ≤ 0.0210 W/mK
    • Service pipe: cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa) reinforced with aramid fibre mesh
    • Insulation: PUR (CFC-free) - available in Series 1 and 2 thicknesses
    • Outer casing: seamlessly extruded corrugated LDPE

    Available in sizes ranging from  32mm up to 160mm (OD), Hiline FibreFlex is supplied on rolls of up to 550 metres in length (25mm OD). Single and double service pipe configurations available within a single outer casing pipe.

    The Hiline FibreFlex system has a comprehensive range of fittings and accessories to ensure that it can be adapted to suit all possible configurations – including transitions to pre-insulated pipe systems with different types of service pipe – such as steel.

    With the same internal service pipe dimensions as traditional flexible pre-insulated pipe systems, the reduced wall thickness provides more room for insulation and therefore improved thermal efficiency. When comparing a standard PE-Xa pipe with Series 1 insulation against a Hiline FibreFlex pipe with Series 1 insulation, tests have revealed a 17% lower heat loss in a FibreFlex system. Over many decades of operation, this will offer significant reductions in operating cost and lower carbon emissions.

    With a tough corrugated LDPE outer casing, all Hiline Flex pipe systems can be buried directly in the ground and their flexibility allows for on-site obstacles to be easily worked around.

    The FibreFlex pipe system is certified OFI CERT ZG 200-2 Class A Technical Specification (in line with EN 15632-2).Hiline systems are manufactured in modern, EN ISO 9001-approved production facilities, using quality-assured materials that comply with all relevant design standards and tolerances for district heating and cooling, along with any that are pertinent to special applications.
    Simple Installation

    Simple Installation

    Delivered to site coiled in continuous lengths of up to 550 metres, on-site joints can be kept to a minimum making installation a quick and secure process.
